How a lesson works
The lesson is a one-to-one video call in English. We do not visit the home. The diagnostic is free and lasts 20 minutes. A paid lesson is AED 50 with an expert teacher or AED 99 with the Head of Academy, with the local amount on the pricing page. Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Muscat use UTC+4. Riyadh, Manama, Doha and Kuwait City use UTC+3. Jakarta and Surabaya use UTC+7, and Bali uses UTC+8. We confirm the hour in your time. IGCSE and A Level follow the exam course. They do not start in Grade 6.
Curricula families use in the UAE
A tutor near you in the UAE is almost always booked for a British curriculum, an IB course, CBSE, or sometimes FBISE. Those are not one syllabus with four names. GCSE, IGCSE and A Level can sit inside a British school, and the board can change by subject. The IB Diploma is a different programme, with its own Maths choices and its own sciences. CBSE follows the class textbook from Class 6. We teach the book the student has, from Grade 6. In a British school that stage is usually Year 7, not Year 6. Exam courses are taught in the years the school enters them. They are not a Grade 6 programme.
Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah each have their own page, because the evening and the schools are not identical even on one clock. The school day ends in the afternoon. Families usually ask for a lesson between 4 pm and 8:30 pm Gulf time, UTC+4, after the commute and before the house is too late. Riyadh is an hour earlier, so a cousin there should not be given the Dubai hour by mistake. The diagnostic is a free conversation of about 20 minutes. When you want to continue, we agree the weekly hour and send the invoice before the paid lesson is written into the calendar.
Prices in the UAE are in dirhams. An expert teacher is AED 50 a lesson. The Head of Academy is AED 99 a lesson. Both are one to one. Maths and Physics are the Head of Academy's subjects. Other subjects are confirmed on the call if a teacher is free. The note after a paid lesson tells you what was taught, whether the short practice was done, and the next step.
Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah each have a page, and families elsewhere in the country use the same Gulf clock. The lesson is online, so the emirate is about the hour and the school, not a drive.
The UAE is UTC+4 all year. We confirm every lesson in that local time. If a relative in Riyadh is joining the conversation, their clock is one hour earlier.
Most families choose a time after school, often between 4 pm and 8:30 pm. Tell us if a test is close and we will keep that hour on the chapter the teacher named.
AED 50 with an expert teacher, or AED 99 with the Head of Academy, for each one-to-one lesson. The 20-minute diagnostic is free and is arranged before any paid hour.
