After a paid lesson the parent gets a short note. It is written on the same WhatsApp thread that arranged the lesson. This page explains what that note is for, so you know what to expect when it arrives.
Why the note is short
A long report after every call becomes something nobody reads. The note answers three questions a parent actually asks that evening. What did you cover. Did the practice from last time get done. What should happen before the next call.
It does not rank the student. It does not predict an exam grade. It does not copy a mark scheme into a score. If a school test is coming, the note can say which type of question was practised.
What each line means
The topic line names the chapter in the words of the book, not a nickname. "Linear graphs" is more useful than "graphs" if that is the heading the class is on. If two courses use the same nickname, the note names the book.
The practice line is yes, partly, or not yet. Partly means the student started and stopped at a particular question. That question is the start of the next lesson. We do not open a new chapter over an unfinished one unless you ask us to, for example because a test is tomorrow and the teacher has named a different topic.
The next step is one action. It might be five questions, a diagram to label, or a paragraph to rewrite. It is not a second course.
How to read it the same evening
Read the topic line first and check that it matches the chapter your child said they were on. Then look at the practice line. If it says the work was only partly done, the unfinished question is the start of the next lesson, and it helps if that question is still in the book bag. The next step is one action for the days before the following call. Keep the note on your phone. We do not file it with the school, and we do not put a student's name on this website.
How to use the practice
Do the short set before the next agreed hour. If the evening is already full, say so. A smaller set that is finished is more useful than a long set that is skipped. When the note says "not yet", bring the same questions back. Guessing a new worksheet on top of an unfinished one is how a gap hides.
If a question needs a method mark, the note may say which line was missing. For example, the formula was written and the substitution was not. That is a teaching comment. It is not a mark out of ten.
What the note is not
It is not a school report, a transcript, or a letter for an application. It is not shared with the school unless you choose to show them your own copy. It does not replace the comment a class teacher writes.
It also does not change the price. An expert teacher is AED 50 a lesson. The Head of Academy is AED 99 a lesson. The note is part of either lesson. The diagnostic that came before the first paid lesson is free and does not produce this note, because no teaching lesson has happened yet.
Reading the note beside the school's own comment
The two comments answer different people. The school comment is about the class. Our note is about the one hour we taught. They can disagree without either being a mistake. A student can be quiet in class and talkative on a call, or the other way round. Use our note to decide the practice before the next lesson. Use the school comment to decide what to ask the class teacher. Do not add the two comments into a score.
If you want the note to mention a school test that is coming, tell us the date and the topic the teacher named. We will refer to that topic. We will not write a sentence about how the test will go.
If something in the note is wrong
Reply on the thread. The usual mistakes are a mis-heard chapter name or a practice mark of "partly" when the student had in fact finished. We correct the note. We do not keep two versions.
Lessons are in English. If you read this page in Arabic or Bahasa Indonesia, the note you receive is still written in English, on the same thread as the booking.
